How to Use the UAE Overstay Fine Calculator

If you are currently overstaying or worried you might, this tool gives you the exact numbers — and tells you exactly what to do next. Every day you wait adds AED 50.

  1. Select your visa type. Choose from 8 categories — tourist (prepaid), visa-on-arrival (30 or 90-day), visit/family, cancelled residence, expired residence, Golden/Green visa, or transit. Each has a different grace period. The tool auto-applies the correct one.
  2. Enter your visa expiry and planned exit date. The expiry is the last valid day on your visa (or cancellation date for residence). Exit date is when you plan to leave — leave as today to see current fine. The tool subtracts any grace period automatically.
  3. Review results and take action. See total fine, exit permit requirement, admin fees, and a personalised action plan. Direct links to official payment portals included.
If You Are Currently Overstaying Act today. Not tomorrow, not next week. Every day adds AED 50. One-week delay = AED 350. One-month delay = AED 1,500 plus exit permit. The cheapest day to resolve this is always today. Check your fine on the ICP portal and take the first step.

Cost Escalation 1 week: ~AED 700 total. 1 month: ~AED 2,125 (fines + exit permit + fees). 3 months: ~AED 5,125 + travel ban risk. 6 months: AED 9,000+ with deportation risk. The cheapest resolution is always the earliest one.

Where to Pay

Online (recommended): ICP Smart Services for all emirates, or GDRFA Dubai for Dubai visas. Also via UAEICP mobile app. In person: Amer Centres (Dubai) or authorised typing offices. Pay at least 48 hours before departure — do not rely on airport counters.

Consequences by Duration

1-14 days: Financial only, simple to resolve. 15-30 days: Passport flagged but manageable. 31-60 days: Exit permit required, risk increases. 61-90 days: Travel ban likely, GCC impact. 90+ days: Deportation risk, potential permanent ban. Use our Visa Type Finder to explore your options for changing status.

Prevention Is Cheaper Set alarms 30 days and 7 days before expiry. Download the UAEICP app. If changing jobs, start new visa before cancellation. A short trip out and back is always cheaper than even one week of fines.
